We are seeking qualified candidates to join our team and execute our business model of providing our customers with the very best service experience the freight industry has to offer! Freight Agents assist our customers with moving freight from origin to destination.
You will be dealing with both customers and freight carriers so candidates MUST be comfortable talking with people daily.
You will be imputing data from emails into our logistics software and attention to detail is critical.
You will be required to secure quality carriers to transport of goods and products in accordance with strict delivery schedules.
You are responsible for the quick and efficient resolve of any conflicts that may arise throughout the shipping process.
This position is fast-paced and is continuously changing! Successful candidates must be able to make quick decisions, work on several tasks simultaneously, and handle high-stress situations.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Monitor emails and transport data from emails and into our Transportation Management System (TMS).
Communicate with customers regarding the status of their shipments.
Continuously monitor freight throughout the shipping process.
Confirm shipment instructions, pick-up times and delivery times.
Must notify the customer of any changes to delivery schedules immediately.
Provide freight pricing/quotes to customers.
Set-up carriers and update carrier information into the Transportation Management System (TMS) dispatching software.
Approve carriers for shipments and negotiate freight rates.
Prepare rate confirmation sheets for carriers with each scheduled shipment and confirm acceptance.
Quickly and efficiently resolve any conflicts that may arise during the shipping process.
Work to achieve company quarterly and annually performance goals.
Identify opportunities to increase profitability and overall service to the customer.
Paperwork, emailing, and filing as required.
Qualifications:
College degree preferred, but not required.
Freight agent experience preferred, non-compete not an issue, Must have excellent computer skills and able to type at least 50 words per minute.
Basic PC skills are required including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and TEAMS.
Must have an energetic and engaging personality.
Must have excellent phone skills.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to communicate via email and over the phone with professionalism.
Proper grammar and punctuation are a must.
The ability to multi-task and handle stress in a fast-paced environment.
Dispatcher positions are high-stress positions and candidates must be able to maintain their professionalism and focus during intense situations.
Must be able to work independently.
